“Will Keck loves Hollywood, knows Hollywood and writes about his idiosyncratic journey through the dark and the light of Hollywood.”
“From what I’ve read of William’s book, I can clearly see he can hold his own with every diva he’s interviewed.”
“Thank you, Will, for giving us a book that offers a look behind the curtain … but also restores our faith in mankind.”
“Until I read When You Step Upon A Star, I had no idea that while I was interviewing stars for Entertainment Tonight, (Will) was hiding in trees and stealing celebrities’ garbage to land Hollywood scoops of his own.”
“I’m a firm believer that we all have the ability to evolve and not allow mistakes made in our pasts to define who we are in the present. Even former National Enquirer reporter William Keck, with whom I crossed paths many years ago.”
“While I’m grateful not to be one of the ‘stars’ Will stepped on, many of our Love Boat guest stars were not so fortunate. Will’s stories reveal his evolution into the kind, generous man I’ve come to both know and trust. Enjoy the read!”
“I should consider myself lucky he didn’t turn up uninvited to my wedding, as he did at Melissa Gilbert’s and Meredith Baxter’s.”
“As a fan of film and television myself, I found this book to be a big, juicy morsel. So read on my friends and enjoy … the great adventure that is the life of my friend Will Keck.”
William Keck began his career working for TV titan Aaron Spelling and as an NBC and CBS studio page before turning his focus to journalism and television production.
He has worked as a staff reporter for the National Enquirer and USA Today, a senior editor and columnist for TV Guide, a regular contributor to People, Us Weekly, Closer Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Disney twenty-three and the Los Angeles Times, and as a senior talent producer for NBC, Discovery Channel and Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family.
He lives in Los Angeles with his Austrian partner, two naughty dogs and a pussy cat who knows all their secrets.
During my multi-decade career working in Hollywood as an entertainment reporter covering celebrities, I’ve written countless articles that I’m proud to claim as my own. Very personal profiles that received accolades not only from my editors, but also from the town’s top publicists and the stars themselves. But you won’t find any of those happily-ever-after stories in this book.
